About Terry

Though Ken and Betty Haffner were excited at the birth of twins, their first born, they never thought about a baby born without arms or legs. Their faith, support from family and love provided Terry a firm foundation for a full, enriched life. Two brothers and two sisters would follow the birth of Terry and Tom.

Terry rose above clouds of uncertainties and set out to dream reaching his goals. He attended a public elementary school, which had one wing for physically disabled students. Later, Terry joined his brother Tom at a Parochial High School.

After high school, Terry elected to pursue a degree at Purdue. Following his graduation ceremony at Purdue University, a news crew featured Terry in a story. He began to receive many calls to speak and then he knew that public speaking and his love of art would be his career.

Terry, at the age of thirty-four learned to drive an adaptive van. He has been featured on several area news stations for this ability. Today, he drives a sporty red mini-van. Terry enjoys the freedom to head off to the lake for a long weekend with his nieces and nephews or just simply to visit a friend.
